Two exciting opportunities for campus food system advocates

Dear Campus Food System Advocate:

Two exciting things to share with you!

1) We launched our Farm & Sea to Campus Network in New England. Please consider signing up for updates from the network, or join a working group if you are passionate about transforming the regional food system.

food for small campus2) We are hosting a Local Foods for Small Campuses event at Unity College next month on June 6/7th. If you are at a small campus, maybe you can join us! And please feel free to forward on to your dining and/or campus farm/garden managers as well! More info on the event below.

Local Foods for Small Campuses is an upcoming event at Unity College in Maine to help small college and private high school chefs, dining directors, food service staff, and campus farm/garden managers come together to discuss the producing, sourcing, preparing, presentation, and marketing of local foods!  Farm to Institution New England (FINE) is hosting the event in partnership with Unity College.

Small campuses, for the purposes of this event, include both colleges and residential high schools with under 2,500 students.

The event is the start to a cohort of small campuses in New England who can work together to find ways to offer better quality, local, sustainable foods to students, and who want to help create more informed consumers!
