Green Apple Day of Service: Opportunities for Hands-On LearningThe Green Apple Day of Service, which takes place on Saturday, Sept. 26, gives students the opportunity to transform all schools into healthy, safe and productive learning environments through local service projects. In addition to the real world experience, leadership and demonstration of social responsibility that accompanies student participation in Green Apple Day of Service, the Center for Green Schools is excited to reward the efforts of hard working student participants with a Higher Ed Certification of Completion. With recognition from the U.S. Green Building Council, projects may include teaching environmental literacy to younger students, sharing information about exemplary green buildings on campus, or conducting a campus sustainability assessment. |
