Pull For Nature!water-chestnuts-volunteers-485x294-c-bob-klein.jpg
We are looking for volunteers to pull water chestnut on most business days (M-F) from June 26th through August 26th in the Southern Lake Champlain Valley in Addison and Rutland Counties

Volunteers pull floating water chestnut plants by hand from canoes. Sites are easily reachable by canoes, and most sites don’t require much paddling to access. Though not particularly strenuous, work is performed outdoors in weather that can be often hot and sunny. Workdays are also occasionally subject to wind, rain, biting insects, and other outdoor elements.

The Conservancy supplies all the canoes, paddles, and life jackets. Workday leaders (TNC staff) will work to keep groups safe and motivated as well as provide training and support in identification of water chestnut plants.
We ask that volunteers sign up a few days in advance to participate.

Please email slcvolunteer@tnc.org or call 802 884 8165
