The RSENR Forestry Program and Gund Institute for Ecological Economics are pleased to host Dr. Daniel Kneeshaw, from the University of Quebec– Montreal, this Thursday, April 16th.  Dr. Daniel Kneeshaw is a professor at UQAM where he directs the PhD program in Environmental Sciences and has been a member of the Centre for Forest Studies since its conception.  He served as Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Forest Research for many years, and continues to serve on the Editorial Board.  Dr. Kneeshaw is a leading researcher on natural disturbance dynamics, including fire and Eastern Spruce Budworm, and their effects on forest structure and composition, focusing on boreal forest ecosystems across Canada. He is also heavily involved in research on First Nations forestry, conservation and alternative forest management.

Dr. Kneeshaw will also give a seminar for graduate students only on the “Ins and outs of peer-reviewed journal publishing,” drawing on his years of experience as an Editor-in-Chief.  The seminar will be at 10:00 AM in the Davis Center, Rm 415.
