As of October 1st, Champlain College is transitioning all network printers to the Managed Print Services printer program. The new program covers all main network printers and includes all the toner, service, parts and labor on these devices.
The advantages of the Managed Print Services Program include:
- Optimize current printer fleet.
- All network printing is done at a guaranteed low cost per page.
- Monthly reporting will be provided on all network printers.
- Monthly billing will be streamlined by department.
- Meter readings and error reporting will take place automatically.
- Color printing will be managed and controlled.
- Our carbon footprint and overall waste will be reduced by using less energy and less paper.
- Eliminate local printers and expensive supplies.
- Individual departments just make one call for toner and service directly.
Moving Champlain College to this Managed Print Services program is the next step in our ongoing efforts to continue to rationalize printing/copying costs and to evolve business processes to as much of a paperless environment as is practically possible. Over the past few years Shelley Navari, Christina Erickson and others have set this goal in motion. As a result of their efforts paper usage is down and the number of personal printers and department laser jets is also drastically down.
