Ways to get involved with Sustain Champlain: Committees, Jobs & Internships, Green Teams, Project Funding and more

Sustain Champlain logo - squareWelcome back to what I hope will be another great year for Champlain College and Sustain Champlain. This is 10th year that Sustain Champlain is in existence, thanks to the insightful staff, faculty and students that started a committee back in 2005. I’m starting my 7th year here at Champlain and am ready to keep moving forward with important projects.
One of the most important ways we can be a sustainable campus is by getting our community engaged with the work we are doing.  There is something for everyone, with varying levels of commitment, ranging from simple to more involved.
  1. Stay informed through Facebook, TwitterBlog, or Website
  2. Attend our events, which can be found on our google calendar. Next up, Community Garden Weeding Party on Sept. 10th.

  3. Help out with an event Green Team.
  4. Submit a project to the Green Revolving Fund to get money to implement one of your ideas
  5. Participate on one of our committees, including Academic Connections, Food & Purchasing, Green Revolving Fund, Waste Reduction, Transportation, and Parking Appeals.  Follow this link for full descriptions of each committee and indicate your interest.
  6. Students: get a job with us! Apply to be an Eco-Rep (deadline: Sept. 8) or for our Waste Reduction Coordinator position?????
  7. Faculty: Offer a service-learning project for your students with Sustain Champlain or one of our community partners

We have more ways to get involved posted on our website. We are always open for suggestions and ideas, so keep ’em coming.  And thanks for all that you do to help Sustain Champlain
