Interdisciplinary Sustainability Teaching & Research Workshop |
This workshop targets faculty who participate in interdisciplinary teaching and scholarship around social-ecological systems in the natural and social sciences, and humanities. It will explore social-ecological systems (SES) challenges, identify what faculty are doing along disciplinary SES gradients, find solutions for stronger and more transparent collaboration, and establish a network of interdisciplinary SES scholars. The workshop is hosted by Furman University from Feb. 28 through March 3. Furman University is one of 13 regional AASHE Centers for Sustainability Across the Curriculum. The deadline to register is Dec. 15.

The Fair Trade Campaigns National Conference convenes leaders to inspire and equip attendees with practical tools to drive conscious consumerism.

Call for Chapter Proposals: Civil Society and Social Responsibility in Higher Education |
Higher Education Teaching and Learning encourages chapter submissions for an upcoming book titled Civil Society and Social Responsibility in Higher Education. The editors are looking at three potential volumes under the subheadings of: International Perspectives on Curriculum and Teaching Development; International Perspectives on University Community Partnerships; and International Perspectives on Leadership and Strategies. The chapter proposal submission deadline is Jan. 15.
