We are postponing the Ritu Sharma event tomorrow due to the winter storm.  The updated information is below with a flyer attached.
The event on Thursday (the official International Women’s Day!) is still happening!  The Women’s Leadership Seminar course is hosting “Welcome to the World”, an interactive simulation exploring the life of women across the globe from 12:30 – 1:45 in the Champlain Room, dessert will be provided by the Women’s and Gender Center.
Thank you,
Maggie & the WGC Team

The Women’s and Gender Canter is honored to host an exciting event for International Women’s Day on Wednesday, March 28th from 12:30pm-1:45pm in the Champlain Room.
Our Visiting Fellow for Women’s Leadership, Linda Tarr-Whelan, will help welcome guest speaker, Ritu Sharma (bio below), to speak about her work with international women’s rights, gender based violence, and women’s leadership, followed by Q&A and a student panel. The panel will consist of students who are international students themselves, have international experience, and/or do international work related to women’s empowerment. We are excited to welcome Absa Samba, Lily Mason, and Sawyer Cawley Edwards on the panel moderated by Val Esposito, Director of the Environmental Studies & Policy Program and professor of the Women’s Leadership Seminar course.
This institutional-wide event is being co-sponsored by the Provost’s Office, the Division of Education & Human Studies, and the Women’s Empowerment Initiative, along with Champlain’s Visiting Fellow for Women’s Leadership, Linda Tarr-Whelan.

We hope to see you there!
Thank you,
