Sustainability Across the Curriculum Workshop at the University of South Carolina |
This workshop will explore how educators can utilize their unique role to inspire, inform and train today’s students to become tomorrow’s sustainability champions. Intended to support faculty of all disciplines and levels of familiarity with sustainability, this workshop will provide hands-on activities, case studies and examples of how developing sustainability curriculum can transform challenges faced by today’s environment, local economies and society. The deadline to apply is Oct. 15. The University of South Carolina is one of 13 regional AASHE Centers for Sustainability Across the Curriculum.

Campus Sustainability Month |
Campus Sustainability Month, sponsored by Colgate, is happening this month and is focused on water conservation. AASHE is encouraging higher education stakeholders to join the #EveryDropCountsmovement. A variety of other engagement opportunities are available, including a discounted movie screening offer, Project Green Challenge and Global Climate Change Week.

AASHE STARS and Organizational Learning Survey |
AASHE STARS liaisons and other STARS users are invited to participate in a new study by Smith College on STARS and organizational learning. The aim of the study is to assess the impacts of STARS across the U.S. and Canada. Survey participants will answer questions about institutional characteristics and history of campus sustainability on their campus, learning at their institution in general, and campus sustainability and STARS on their campus. Completion of this online survey is estimated to take less than 20 minutes. Respondents can enter to win a complimentary registration pass to the 2018 AASHE Conference & Expo.

EcoCareers 2018 Call for Proposals |
National Wildlife Federation’s EcoLeaders Program is accepting 45-minute presentation proposals for the second annual EcoCareers Conference, held online Feb. 21-22, 2018. The EcoCareers Conference 2017 aims to prepare students and young professionals for wildlife and sustainability careers.
