|Georgetown U Hires Inaugural VP of Sustainability|
Meghan Chapple, Georgetown’s first vice president of sustainability, will oversee Georgetown’s Office of Sustainability and lead the university’s strategic sustainability actions. Chapple most recently served as sustainability director and senior advisor on sustainability at The George Washington University.

|AASHE Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education|
The AASHE Global Conference on Sustainability in Higher Education, happening virtually Oct. 12 – 14, will feature about 200 sessions that will be available via on-demand playback through Dec. 31, six keynote sessions, over 20 networking sessions, and eight exhibitors ready to share products, services and best practices to advance your campus sustainability goals. Registration is open through Oct. 14.
AASHE Member Discount: 30% Off WOHESC
AASHE members are eligible to receive 30 percent off registration to the Washington Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference (WOHESC), happening March 2 – 4, 2022, at South Seattle College in Seattle, Washington. The discount expires Feb. 28.

Compact22 Conference Call for Proposals
Campus Compact organizers are accepting proposals for the Compact22 national conference, happening March 29 – 31, 2022. The conference is focused on the role of higher education in building healthy communities and fostering a just and equal democracy. The event’s theme is A Better Way Forward: Innovation With Equity at the Center. Proposals are due Oct. 25.
Call for Proposals: Design & Implement Virtual Series on Climate Change & Sustainability
The U.S. Department of State’s USA Study Abroad team invites U.S. colleges and universities to submit a proposal to conceptualize, design and implement a new virtual seminar series on climate change and environmental sustainability for scholars and alumni of the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program. Proposals are due Oct. 28.
Call for Video Messages From Higher Education Students
Students Organizing for Sustainability International invites students at higher education institutions to submit video messages that provide a critical and solution-focused perspective on how climate education is and should be integrated into the curriculum. The five best videos will be compiled into a 4-5 minute video that will be played for ministers and delegates at U.N. Environment Program and the Times Higher Education Climate Impact Forum on Oct. 28, ahead of COP26.
