Volunteer at a Learn to Ride Class!

Help Create the Next Generation of Bicycle Riders at Our Learn to Ride Class!

Our Learn to Ride class is back by popular demand and we need YOU to help make it a success!  On September 18th at Leddy Park, we are running a Learn to Ride class specifically designed to provide a low-stress, high engagement, and playful environment for kids to learn.

We’ve given the gift of riding to kids who have struggled with learning how to ride for years, which is the best part of the program. And the people who help those kids?  Our volunteers, like you. Teaching kids to ride is incredibly rewarding. Seeing them overcome their fears and RIDE is amazing.

We need strong and fit volunteers to hold the back of bike seats and run with kids. The balance bike method is pretty great, but you can’t quite get rid of the “run while holding the back of the seat” step.

We love to have a 1:1 ratio of instructors to kids, but we also have other volunteer jobs, like staffing the sign-in table and helping with the snack/sticker table. We also need bike mechanics to remove training wheels, inflate tires, etc. You can indicate in the sign-up notes what you would prefer to do.

If you like kids, enjoy being a part of a major milestone, and want a good workout, this event is for YOU. We always have a lot of kids at these classes and we will definitely need you.

Because this event involves close interaction with others, we are requiring that staff and volunteers wear masks for their own safety and the safety of the attendees. Thank you for your cooperation.
