Seeking a civic-minded student videographer

In past years, we have had Champlain work study students film Ward Neighborhood Planning Association meetings, which air on Channel 17.
This year, I have a returning student who is able to film the Ward 4/7 meeting, but due to an evening class, he is not able to film Ward 6 meetings, which covers Champlain’s neighborhood and is held the first Thursday of each month from 7-9PM.  CEDO is also looking for a videographer for Ward 5, which is held the 3rd Thursday of every month.  The meetings take place in various locations around town, so transportation is needed to pick up/drop off equipment and get to the meeting.
Do you know of any broadcast students who are interested in civic engagement/public meetings who might be interested in this role?  In addition to filming the NPA meetings, there is the potential of the following:
  • Training by Channel 17 on video basics, equipment use and video editing
  • Visibility to discussions and issues facing BTV
  • Potential for an expanded communications role with CEDO (ie. through a paid internship)
The position is posted in Handshake and the job description is here.  Also here is CEDO’s job description:
Please help me spread the word to students you know who might be interested — thank you!
