FOOD FOR THOUGHT – Cathedral Square is looking for volunteers to prep, prepare and serve meals in their Memory Care facility. Flexible scheduling. Contact Beth Alpert at 859-8819 or email alpert@cathedralsquare.org.

SPRING PLANTING – It’s finally spring, and Vermont Youth Conservation Corps is in need of volunteers to help with seeding and prepping their greenhouses to start producing food for their Health Care Share program. Individuals and groups can join them on Tuesdays-Thursdays from 9 a.m. to Noon or 1-4 p.m. next to the big red barn on East Main Street in Richmond. FRIENDLY VISITS – Age Well invites volunteers to provide regular social interaction and assistance to seniors in their homes. A RIDE OF HOPE – A Bikeathon has been organized to celebrate the life of Ken Appel, a Vermont attorney and passionate cyclist who passed away from a Prime of Life Brain Neurodegenerative Disease. The event will occur rain or shine on the Missiisquoi Valley Rail Trail between St. Albans and the Sheldon Bridge on May 11the. Ride as far as you wish, have fun, and enjoy the scenery. Proceeds will benefit Franklin County Home Health Agency and Cure PSP to help support research and treatment. ON THE RUN – Girls on the Run Vermont is a 10-week program for girls in grades 3-8 that combines life skills lessons with training for a 5K run/walk. They are looking for volunteers to assist at the 5K event in June. Contact Sally Malay at 603-757-3668 or email sally@girlsontherunvermont.org.

MARATHON – RunVermont is gearing up for the 31st running of the Vermont City Marathon in late May. Group volunteering opportunities are available throughout May and on race weekend, May 24-26. ON THE ROAD – Age Well is in need of volunteer drivers to deliver Meals on Wheels on weekdays in Burlington, South Burlington, Essex, St. Albans and surrounding areas. Volunteer once a week or once a month, whatever works best for you. Delivery is typically between 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. Organizations and businesses who can donate a day are encouraged to volunteer. JUSTICE FOR ALL – Franklin Grand Isle Restorative Justice Center is looking for passionate and committed volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of individuals who have been convicted of a wide range of offenses. Volunteers help support a core member who has been released from prison to successfully re-enter the community through positive connections and encouragement. Trained volunteers work in teams to meet weekly with the core member to support them in returning to the community and managing everyday living.
