Show up for Climate Action! Attend a Public Hearing in your area – Feb. 25th

The time is now to prioritize climate action and we need you to add your voice to this fight.

Monday, February 25th from 6-7pm, the Committees on Appropriations are holding six public hearings across the state to get input from citizens on the FY2020 Budget. Can we count on you to be there and stand up in support of the Climate Package?

RSVP TO SHOW UP FOR CLIMATE ACTION

It is so important that people are at these hearings calling for climate action in the budget. Voicing your support for funding climate action at one of these meetings will only take a couple of minutes of your time, but it has the potential to make a huge difference in how Vermont addresses climate change going forward.

The hearings are being held in the following locations from 6pm-7pm on Monday:

  • Winooski (Community College of VT)
  • St. Albans City (St. Albans City School Library)
  • St. Johnsbury (St. Johnsbury House)
  • Springfield (Springfield Town Hall)(NOTE: The Springfield Hearing is from 5:30-6:30pm)
  • Morrisville (People’s Academy High School Auditorium)
  • Rutland City (Longfellow School Building, RPS)

As you know, this year’s Climate Package addresses heating and transportation, which, when combined, account for 2/3 of Vermont’s carbon emissions. The two policies we are pushing for are: increase funding for weatherization to double the number of low and moderate income homes weatherized every year and committing all of the VW settlement dollars to the electrification of Vermont’s transportation sector.

Sign up to attend one of the hearings here and we will send you an email with details and talking points.

Thanks for adding your voice, Friend. Your decision to show up and be a part of the solution is what makes grassroots movements like this successful.

In solidarity,
