Volunteer for the Fall Fundo

The Fall Fundo (October 13) is quickly approaching. We’re on track for a big day – we already have over 100 riders and $9,000 in donations. Woohoo!

With all these riders, we’re gonna need some help making sure everything runs smoothly. If you’re not riding, volunteering is a great way to contribute. As a token of our gratitude, each volunteer will get a Fall Fundo T-Shirt and a ticket to the after party.

Our Summer in Numbers

We had our best summer EVER in both of our shops and accomplished a ton in the community workshop.

We provided 365 free or subsidized bikes, 400+ free or subsidized repairs, and 245 accessories to income-eligible customers – making it affordable for them to get on a bike and stay there.

We partnered with Spectrum again to train five youth in basic mechanics skills and give them some paid experience repairing bikes in the community, with our mobile bicycle repair unit, and in the shop.

And, we hired our first junior mechanics – high school students who we love and who were completely pumped to land a fun summer job.

Fall Workshops

On October 4th, we’re kicking off another semester of Bicycle Mechanics 101: six consecutive Thursdays of bicycle anatomy. We’ll learn about hubs, headsets, braking, shifting and more.

We’re also continuing our Monday night workshops: DIY Flat Fix, Basic Commuter, and Maintenance Mondays.

Vermont Youth Cycling

Vermont Youth Cycling is kicking off their mountain bike season later this month at Mount Ascutney. This cool program, open to kids from grades 5-12, is providing the next generation of rippers with fun group rides and races, while educating and empowering them to improve their skills and health by riding bikes.
