Glean Vegetables with Us!
Friday 9/7 and 9/14 from 10AM – 12PM: Gleaning at Jericho Settlers Farm

The Gleaning & Food Rescue Program gleans and rescues fresh vegetables from Intervale farms and farms in Chittenden County. Our Fair Share Program then distributes this food, every week from July – October, at no cost, to 200 households and 20 social service agencies. We provide community members and organizations access to fresh, local food from farms they know. The Fair Share Program also provides nutrition education, cooking skills, and resources for participants to connect them with nourishing food all year long. Please join us to glean seasonal produce from Jericho Settlers Farm fields!
*NOTE* This opportunity takes place outside of the Intervale and volunteers will need to secure their own transportation to and from the farm.

Activity: You will be volunteering with Intervale Gleaning & Food Rescue, a program of the Intervale Center, helping to harvest vegetables from farm fields.

What to bring: Please dress for the weather and prepare to get dirty. Folks should wear good, dry boots or shoes and bring work gloves, a water bottle, sunscreen, bug spray and a snack. The most important thing is to dress for comfort!

Where to meet: Gleaning and Food Access Manager, Sarah Alexander, will meet you at Jericho Settlers Farm, located at the intersection of Route 117 and Barber Farm Road in Jericho, VT. You will be emailed more detailed directions the day before the glean.  *NOTE* This opportunity takes place outside of the Intervale and volunteers will need to secure their own transportation to and from the farm.

Contact Sarah Alexander at sarah@intervale.org or 802-660-0440 ext. 120 with any questions. As always, all volunteers are eligible to receive City Market member worker hours.
