April & May Volunteer Opportunities with the Intervale Center

Help Harvest Trees This Week
When: April 25, 26 and 27 from 9AM – 12PM or 1PM – 4PM

What: Volunteers will help the Intervale Conservation Nursery manage their tree stock by harvesting, processing and maintaining native tree species. Roles will vary along with the Nursery staff’s projects each day.

Where: Intervale Center – 180 Intervale Road Burlington, VT 05401

Have a Heart, Pull a Weed Day
When: Saturday, May 19 from 9:30 AM – 2 PM

What: We’re looking for volunteers to help pull invasive species and improve the health of the land at the Intervale Center. Invasive species take resources from native plants which negatively impacts the environment. We will start the day learning a little bit about invasives and their impact on the environment. Then we will split up into groups and remove invasive species, such as common buckthorn and multiflora rose, and re-plant areas with native trees and shrubs.

All volunteers are invited to a celebratory lunch from 1 – 2 PM in the Intervale Center Community Barn, complete with food from Love Local catering, drinks from Sap! Beverages, hands-on activities like make-your-own goutweed pesto, and more.

Where: Intervale Center 180 Intervale Road Burlington, VT 05401

Contact Carolyn at Carolyn@intervale.org or 802-660-0440 ext. 101 with any questions. As always, all volunteers are eligible to receive City Market member worker hours.
