WAREHOUSE STORE – Franklin Grand Isle Habitat for Humanity is in need of volunteers to help at their warehouse store in Highgate. Help sort and arrange household items, hardware, building materials and furniture on Thursdays and Saturdays. Volunteers are also needed to assist customers on Saturdays. MENTOR! MENTOR! – Spectrum Youth & Family Services Mentoring Program is in search of mentors, particularly male identified mentors, LGBTQ+ mentors and mentors of color to serve as healthy adults in the lives of area youth. Mentors should be 21 or older, living in Chittenden County who can dedicate 4 hours a month for one year to a deserving mentee in a fun and respectful relationship. DONATED BOOKS VOLUNTEER – ReSOURCE receives a tremendous quantity of books each week and is looking for an organized, book-loving individual to help update and continually replenish the donated books section of the retail store. Help sort and assess quality of books, maintain a clean, stocked and well-organized book section. Several other volunteer opportunities available. The Farm at VYCC in Richmond’s Health Care Share project provides CSA shares to food insecure families. Volunteers are needed through the summer to help. Spring work includes seeding plants, constructing greenhouses and hoop houses, preparing fields and transplanting veggies. This is a great large-group project. “PITCHIN’ FOR A PURPOSE” – Lund is looking for volunteers to work at their Cornhole Tournament on May 12th at Burlington International Airport. This 64 team tournament, to help support the work of Lund, needs volunteers the day of to set-up, check-in, work the silent auction, work the Derby and more. ON THE RUN – RunVermont is staging its 2018 half-marathon on April 14th and is looking for volunteers who are not running to share their time and talents in many different volunteer opportunities. PROVIDING RELIEF – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Burlington needs weekend/holiday overnight relief managers to provide caring support to guest families, take guest referrals, answer phones, etc. Friday from 9 p.m. to Saturday noon or Saturday from 6 p.m. to Sunday noon. OFFICE HELP – Island Arts in North Hero is looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to work in their office 2-3 days a week. Perfect for a person who enjoys the arts and creativity and is familiar with Word and Excel. Tasks include copying, scanning and helping with grants.
