Upcoming Burlington Candidate Forums

For those who are interested, here are some opportunities to learn more about candidates for local BTV elections in advance of Town Meeting Day on Tuesday, March 6.
Still need to get registered to Vote?  You can use Champlain’s TurboVote account or the State of Vermont form here.

Ward 6 NPA Meeting
Thursday, February 1, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Greek Orthodox Church, 600 South Willard Street
This month the Ward 6 NPA is featuring a Town Meeting Day candidates’ forum, including the Ward 6 candidates for School Board and City Council, as well as the Mayoral candidates. The forum will consist of statements by the candidates, followed by direct questions for candidates from the citizens attending.  All city residents (not just Ward 6) are always welcome to attend any NPA meeting, so please come with your interest and questions, and bring your friends!
7:00-7:15 p.m.: Approval of minutes, and Lisa Kingsbury (UVM) with plans for the new athletics multipurpose facility
7:15-7:40 p.m.: School Board Forum: Stephanie Seguino and Clare Wool
7:40-8:20 p.m.: City Council Forum: Joel Fitzgerald, Karen Paul, and Charles Simpson
8:20-9:00 p.m.: Mayoral Forum: Infinite Culcleasure, Carina Driscoll, and Miro Weinberger

Contois Auditorium in Burlington City Hall, 149 Church Street

Location TBD (currently Department of Public Works, 645 Pine Street)
1:50-2:00 – Open Forum (for matters not related to the elections)
2:00-2:30 – City Council for Ward 5: Chip Mason (Incumbent Councilor) and Jesse Warren
2:30-3:15 – School Board for Ward 5: Mike Fisher, Susanmarie Harrington (Incumbent Commissioner), and Nicole Twohig
3:15-4:00 – Mayor: Infinite Culcleasure, Carina Driscoll, and Miro Weinberger (Incumbent Mayor)
We are soliciting public input for questions that are both general city/school/etc and South End specific. Burlington Mayoral Debate
Thursday, February 15, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
ECHO Leahy Center, One College Street
Join Burlington voters for an evening of discussion between the candidates about the future of transportation, housing, job growth and mobility.  Dessert reception to follow.  Free event but space limited so reservations are required.
