Come Speak Out for Climate Action – September 28

The Energy Independent Vermont Movement Needs You:

Will you speak out for bold climate action next Thursday, September 28, 6pm in St. Albans?

Hop on our “Climate Action Bus” and we’ll get you there, because it’s that important that you’re there!

But hurry! Space is limited and climate change is intensifying at an exponential rate!

RSVP now to give a public comment at the Climate Action Commission hearing next Thursday, September 28, 6pm in St. Albans.

Governor Scott’s Climate Action Commission is holding the third leg of their “public listening tour” next week, and we absolutely have to make sure they’re hearing loudly and clearly that Vermonters believe it’s time fossil fuel companies pay for their carbon pollution and we put that money to work for Vermonters instead.

Thus far, the governor has said one thing on climate, but done the opposite. However, he set up this Commission to make climate action recommendations for Vermont, and this Commission is supposed to be listening to the public–so this is a critical opportunity to make our voices heard.

**Unfortunately the commission has chosen to host these meetings in some of the least convenient times and areas of the state, making it as difficult as possible for Vermont students to attend. But that’s not holding us back!

We’ll be chartering a “Climate Action Bus” to transport Burlington students at 5pm in front of the UVM Royal Tyler Theater. But space is limited!
