Upcoming Volunteer opportunities with Lake Champlain International

There are several upcoming volunteer needs with Lake Champlain International.

  1. Office support! Whee! I know this is everyone’s favorite way of spending a few hours – but you can spend them with me and a cup of coffee!
  2. Outreach opportunities:

2.1 May 20th, 8:00-5:00  Safe Boating Day at Apple Island Marina:   ** High need! I have another event at the same time**

Volunteers needed throughout the day, but especially from 10:30 to close.  Set-up, Tabling, Bobber Bob, transport, and break-down.  Any hours you can offer are fantastic!
“Once again the US Coast Guard Auxiliary Burlington Flotilla 15-02 in cooperation with Apple Island Resort and Marina will be hosting the 2017 kick off to the National Safe Boating week.  Like last year, Aux members will be performing free vessel examinations, teaching Suddenly in Command class, and promoting safe boating activities.  Governor Scott will be opening the day with a speech at 8:30am

2.2 May 27th, 7:30-11:30  Ready, Set Run! Waterfront, Burlington. Kids’ activities and water quality tabling:

Volunteers needed to operate the LCI table: outreach to adults about water quality threats, activities for kids about water transport through a watershed. https://www.runvermont.org/events/mvp-yam-scram/

2.3 June 1st  3:00-7:00 Take a Stake in the Lake, Saint Albans Bay Park:

Volunteers needed to table about the BLUE stormwater mitigation program, and civic engagement with water quality

2.4 June 10th  8:30-1:00 Burlington Farmer’s Market:

Volunteers needed to table about threats to water quality, and actions people can take to protect our lake.

  1. Bobber Bob opportunities:

3.1 May 14th  8:30-10:00am  LUND Mother’s Day Walk and Ride, Rice High School:

3.2 May 27th, 7:30-11:30  Ready, Set Run! Waterfront, Burlington, Bobber Bob and the mascot race:
