Recreate History Student Art Competition

Submissions are now being accepted for the Recreate History Student Art Competition! Our fifth annual local history event, Church Street: The Heart & Soul of the Queen City, co-sponsored by the Champlain College Special Collections and Office of Advancement, will be held on May 15, 2017. This year, for the first time, a student art competition will be part of the event.

Students are invited to create original artwork in response to six historic images of Church Street from our Special Collections holdings and deliver them to Miller Information Commons by Monday April 17 at 5 PM. Six finalists will be selected, one for each historic image. The finalists’ work will be unveiled on May 15, showcased thereafter in an exhibition at Roger H. Perry Hall, and become part of our Special Collections. We will award two $250 cash prizes, one for a Judge’s Choice award, and one for a People’s Choice award determined by guests at the event.
