Women’s Empowerment Symposium

This year’s Women’s Empowerment Symposium will take place on Monday, April 3, 2017. The theme is Being Brave: Cultivating our Courage & Confidence. ALL are welcome to participate and events are LEAD-credit eligible!

The schedule includes:
Keynote speaker Alexia Vernon, who will focus on bravery and using challenges to our advantage.
A diverse all-student panel will discuss feminism and what it means for them as individuals.
Hands-on workshops including:
Stand Up & Negotiate Your Worth (presented by Alexia Vernon)
Using Entertainment to Change Public Opinion (presented by Population Media Center)
Self-Defense for Women by Women (presented by The Safety Team)
Mansplaining by Dan & Luke: Men as Allies (presented by Luke Lewis & Dan O’Hara)
A poetry slam featuring Muslim Girls Making Change. Faculty, student and staff are encouraged to present!
