ART HOP – Burlington Electric Department is looking for volunteers to help prepare for Art Hop by placing stickers on hats and programs. September 6, Noon-4 (lunch provided), September 7 (2-5 p.m.) and September 8, 1-5 p.m. (snacks provided). Pick the time that works best for you. BLUEBERRIES – Healthy Roots Collaborative invites volunteers to help glean blueberries in the beautiful fields of East Franklin. Berries will be distributed to food shelves and charitable food sites. Contact Hannah Baxter at 524-8947 or emailfood4fairfield@gmail.com.

JET PULL – American Cancer Society is planning its Pulling for Hope event to take place on September 10th at Burlington International Airport. Teams of 25 will test their strength against a 757 aircraft from Noon-3 p.m. Volunteers can help with registration, parking, banners, food truck, and more. ON THE TRAILS – The Nature Conservancy needs volunteers to help maintain trails and control invasive plants at sites throughout the region. Pick a day and make a difference in the great outdoors: Raven Ridge (Monkton), September 22, and/or 28th, Williams Woods (Charlotte), September 17th and/or 27th, LaPlatte River Marsh (Shelburne), September 29th. BE A CHAMP – Champlain Adaptive Mounted Program (CHAMP) needs volunteers for their therapeutic horseback riding lessons in South Hero for people of all ages with disabilities. FOOD FOR THOUGHT – Several organizations are looking for volunteers to help glean, sort, pack food for distribution to those in need:

  • Vermont Food Bank: Sort and pack food donations and/or help harvest excess fruits and vegetables donated by local farms. Flexible 3-hour shifts. Contact Hannah Snyder at 802-477-4125 or email hsnyder@vtfoodbank.org.
