OPEN STUDIO WEEKEND

Saturday and Sunday, October 8–910am – 5pm

Open Studio weekend Woodcut (used by permission)Celebrate fall with us! To mark Open Studio weekend, we share carving, crafting, and art with club meetings, demonstrations, and workshops.

A few highlights:
Green Mountain Woodcarvers: Monthly meeting and carve-in : Saturday, 9 – 1
At the Carve-In, members will work on a variety of carving projects. Carvers are always happy to explain how they carve and to share their expertise with others. Ask questions and become a member!

Leaf Garlands with Lori Hinrichsen : Saturday  2 – 4
Celebrate fall! Join artist Lori Hinrichsen in making Leaf Garlands in our Treehouse! We will gather leaves and use needle and thread to make a cascade of color. Maximum 12 participants, so please pre-register. Ages 7 and up. Suggested donation: $5

Soap Carving for Fledglings : Sunday 2 – 3
Kids aged 6 and up try out soap carving—an introduction toward woodcarving and an art in its own right. No upper age but 12 participants, please. Pre-register by email: museum@birdsofvermont.org.

IN LAYERS: the Art of the Egg

Daily, ends October 31

Eggs. Art. Science. Put them together and you have an art show rich with layers, media, expression, and craft.

Can you help out at Dead Creek Wildlife Festival onOctober 1? We’ll be there, and it’s better with you!

We will have a sale table and run soap carving workshops. Please sign up to help for a few hours or all day. Or, if you would rather help at the Museum that day, that works too.

October 8 is day 1 of our Open Studio Weekend celebration, when we host carvers and art events. Volunteers make it easier, by helping at the front desk and with visitors for two hours (or more).
