Vermont ECO AmeriCorps program accepting applications

Dear education and career advisement professionals,

The Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (VTDEC) is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving with the ECO AmeriCorps program for the 2016 – 2017 service year. Applications are due by 4:30 pm EDT on Monday, April 18, 2016.

Member application information is available on the ECO AmeriCorps website.  Please direct questions toanr.ecoamericorps@vermont.gov.

ECO AmeriCorps is an environmentally focused AmeriCorps program coordinated by the VTDEC, which places AmeriCorps members with organizations around the state to spend a year of service addressing critical environmental issues focused on water quality, while gaining experience and learning valuable job skills. Members may serve with public entities (local, regional, state), school districts, not for profit institutions of higher education, and 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organizations.

The VTDEC plans to place 20 full-time members with various host sites for the 2016-2017 program year. Members serve approximately 40 hours a week for 11 months beginning in mid to late September 2016 through August 2017. In exchange for their service, members receive a living allowance of $16,320 for the program year, health insurance, professional training and networking, and are eligible to receive a  $5,775 AmeriCorps Segal Education Award at the completion of their service.
