Join VTrans for the Vermont On-Road Bicycle Plan Statewide Public Meeting

WHAT: Vermont On-Road Bicycle Plan public meeting

WHEN: Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm

WHY: In the Fall of 2014, the Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) began the Vermont On-Road Bicycle Plan in order to meet a growing demand for on road bicycling facilities. Since then we have developed a draft map of priority bicycle corridors.

At this meeting we will:
Discuss how we determined where there is the greatest demand for bicycling on Vermont State roads; and
Present the resulting draft map of the priority bicycle corridors.
The draft map groups bicycle corridors on Vermont state highways based on their desirability. Desirability refers to where Vermonters and visitors currently ride and want to ride bicycles.

Quantifying desirability relied upon an analysis of land use patterns, access and proximity to destinations, data collected on recreational bicycling, and over 2100 Vermonters providing public input through the project’s wikiMap.

WHERE: Throughout the state using Vermont Interactive Technology (VIT) sites.
