Collecting Hygiene Products for Burlington area donations

Wednesday, May 13, 2015, is the All Campus Retreat for Faculty and Staff. The afternoon portion of the retreat will once again involve community service as it was such a huge success last year! One of the community service options this year will be to put together Hygiene Kits to be distributed to both COTS and Burlington Park and Recreation. COTS will distribute the kits to those in need in our community and Burlington Parks and Recreation will distribute the kits to summer camps who include a number of children that don’t have easy access to hygiene products.

As part of the prep for this service option, we need to collect hygiene products to put in these kits. Tomorrow at the Earth Day Breakfast there will be a collection bin available, and a place to make a monetary donation, if you would prefer, to go towards the purchase of hygiene products for these kits.

The products we are collecting are as follows (travel size preferred):

  • Deodorant
  • disposable razors and shaving gel (will only go to COTS)
  • shampoo/conditioner
  • hand sanitizer
  • body wash
  • feminine hygiene products (will only go to COTS)

Bars of soap and toothpaste, toothbrushes, and floss have already been generously donated by TwinCraft Skincare and Alder Brook Dental respectively.

Tomorrow afternoon, look for an email with more information on community service at the All Campus Retreat and to sign-up for what service option you would like to participate in.

We hope to see you at the First Annual Staff Earth Day Breakfast tomorrow and hope you will bring a monetary donation and/or hygiene product.

Thank you and have a great afternoon!
