HAPPINESS KNOCKS – Age Well invites volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels and share a few moments with the grateful recipients. Delivery is typically between 9:30 and 11:45 a.m., and time commitments may be once a week or once a month, whatever works best for you. DO DROP IN – Sara Holbrook Community Center is looking for volunteers to spend some time with kids at the Drop In Center at Robert Miller Community Recreation Center in the New North End. Shoot baskets, help with homework, do a craft project, or just hang out and get to know the kids. Flexible scheduling after school on weekdays. SELLING THE GOODS – ReSource is in need of volunteers to assist in their Household Goods Store. Tasks include stocking and organizing donations, sorting holiday items, labeling books and media, maintaining a clean retail space, and more. Flexible scheduling. ENRICHING LIVES – Community Health Centers of Burlington need volunteers at their Low-Barrier Shelter to help enrich the lives of individuals experiencing homelessness. Volunteers help guests have more access to relationships with the larger community, help guests get settled in shelter space, be an active listener, help with meal service, provide entertainment, and more. Shifts between 5:45 and 8 p.m. or 6 and 8:15 a.m. Contact Anne Leaver at aleaver@chcb.org.
A HOME COOKED MEAL – Cathedral Square is looking for a volunteer to provide an occasional home-cooked meal for a male senior in South Burlington. This volunteer could visit a few times a month, prepare meals to be put in the freezer, and chat and listen to a diverse collection of music. SUPPORTING SMALL BUSINESS – Vermont SCORE fosters vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education. They are looking for a volunteer leader for their Education team who has insights into the types of topics that are relevant to today’s small business owners. TAKE A WALK – Ethan Allen Residence is looking for volunteers to join their Walking Buddies Program by walking in the neighborhood with their resident elders. JOIN THE CIRCLE OF SUPPORT – Winooski Community Justice Center has need of volunteers for Circles of Support and Accountability (COSA). Volunteers offer mentorship and support to an offender returning to the community from prison who desires to change and cause no more harm. Training, supervision and support provided.
