BAKE A TREAT – Ronald McDonald House Charities is looking for volunteers to come to the house in the mornings and prepare fresh baked good for guests. Contact Marcia Stone at 862-4943 or email marcia@rmhcvt.org.
MENTOR! MENTOR! – Spectrum Youth and Family Services invites volunteer mentors, age 21 and older, to share an hour or so a week of fun activities with a mentee in the Chittenden County community. DELIVER A MEAL – Bayada Hospice is part of the Dinners with Love network of hospice agencies, restaurants, and volunteers who provide free meals to hospice patients and their families on Thursday evenings. Volunteers are needed to pick up food at a restaurant and deliver it to a hospice patient. Interview and background check required. Training provided. SHELTER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – Community Health Centers of Burlington are in need of volunteers to help enrich the lives of the homeless by helping guests have access to relationships with the larger community, get settled in shelter space, help with meal service at 6:30 p.m. each night, provide entertainment, and more. One shift every other week between 5:45-8 p.m. or 6 -8:15 a.m. Contact Anne Leaver at aleaver@chcb.org.
AND JUSTICE FOR ALL – City of Winooski is looking for volunteers to serve on the Restorative Justice Panel to help guide responsible parties through a restorative justice process. A FAIR TRADE – Peace & Justice Center needs volunteers to assist their store manager with running their fair trade retail store. Volunteers help customers with products and provide information about Fair Trade. Volunteers receive on-site training with the cash register and customer service skills. A CHRISTMAS MEAL – Dismas House in Burlington and in Winooski has need of volunteer cooks to prepare a portion of their Christmas Dinner and join residents for the meal. No plans for the holidays? GIFTS FOR KIDS – Steps to End Domestic Violence It’s time again for our annual Holiday Giving Program! A number of the kiddos who will be receiving gifts this year have asked for gift cards. Each child in the program receives $100 worth of gifts. If cost is a barrier, we will happily accept smaller amounts and can pair together donated cards to ensure they get the full amount.
