Keynote Address by Deb Markowitz given at VTIPL’s Oct. 21 Conference
Deb’s keynote will soon be posted on VTIPL’s website and will be airing on public access TV stations around the state. Contact your local public access TV station and request that they show it!
350VT Convergence on Saturday, Nov. 4 from 2 – 8 pm at Goddard College
Find the details about 350VT’s annual statewide meeting here and register nowif interested in attending. Workshops will be in the afternoon from 2 – 5 pmfollowed by the annual meeting featuring 2017 successes, info on their new solutions campaign, and appreciations & awards. Dinner and discussion will be from 6:30 – 8:00. Admission fee is on a sliding scale from $10 – $50.
“Saving Our Waters” — Vermont Public TV Documentary and Two Events
The 3-part documentary on the health and vibrancy of the Lake Champlain Basin premiered on VPT in mid-October. You can watch it online. Town-Hall-style conversations on this topic – free and open to all – are being held at 6:30 pm: on 11/8 at Paramount Theater in Rutland and 11/15 at 14th Star Brewery in St. Albans. Crossroads Conference on Nov. 11 at Champlain College, Burlington

VT Energy and Climate Action Network (VECAN) Annual Meeting – Dec. 2
Transforming Vermont’s Energy from the Ground Up is the title of this year’s conference, and Gina McCarthy, former head of the EPA, is the Keynote Speaker. The conference is 9 am – 4:30 pm on Dec. 2 at Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee. Many workshops are offered including “Transforming Our Transportation System”. Registration will open soon. Low Carbon Thanksgiving Guide
National Interfaith Power & Light offers a free guide to help families reduce their carbon footprint at holiday time.
Wreaths from Green Mountain Monastery
The Sisters harvest in a sustainable way from trees on their property the balsam they use in making the 20 inch wreaths. The cost is $25 + shipping (with discounts for large orders) and wreaths ship after Thanksgiving. The website has more information. To place an order, send an email.

Drawdown – Paul Hawken Speaks about Reversing Global Warming
Paul gave this webinar for the Security and Sustainability Forum. It’s similar to the speech he recently gave at UVM. Beginning at the 11 minute mark, his webinar is about 1 hour long. Paul also has a book on this topic.
