North Avenue Pilot – Survey and Public Forum
CUSTOMER SERVICE, BTVDPWCS@GMAIL.COM, DEPT. OF PUBLIC WORKS, BURLINGTON
The North Avenue Pilot Project has been in place since July and includes temporary restriping and intersection changes between Washington Street and Plattsburg Avenue. The changes were pursued in the hopes of decreasing the number and severity of crashes, calming traffic, reducing speeds, and making North Avenue safer for everyone walking, biking, and driving, while still providing efficient traffic flow.
We are collecting traffic data, assessing crash incidents, and discussing changes with emergency service providers. We also need to hear from the community! To understand the opinions of New North Enders and the larger community, we will distribute surveys in different formats over the next several months. Our first survey will be online and is available now through October 2. This will provide the first round of public opinion data for City Council at their meeting on October 17. Phone and paper surveys will be distributed this coming spring.
To complete the survey, please follow this link and share this with your friends, family, and colleagues: https://rsgresearch.com/northave?anon=t&s=2. For those without regular access to a computer, Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission staff will be available with computers at community centers – please call 863-9094 x3 to sign up for a date and time to fill out the survey.
