A Message from the Real Food Standard Council

Hello Network!

Please see below for a message from the Real Food Standard Council.  Please note the opportunity to

submit a comment by April 1st.
Over the past month, we’ve taken unprecedented action for our future – a future where there isjustice and dignity for workers and producers, in a food system that sustains our communities, seeds, water, and land.

These are some the values that have been translated over many years into labels and certifications, and carefully aggregated into our Real Food Standards. The power of our standards is clear: they have been adopted by 100+ institutions, upheld by 900 student researchers, and upheld in the Real Food Calculator, an app used by colleges and universities from from coast to coast.

Now, we have the opportunity to further strengthen our vision and our voice for what the Real Food Standards should be. Our National Real Food Standards Council launched the public comment period about the Real Food Standards on Food Day 2015. The public comment period closes April 1.

Make your voice heard by April 1 about the standards we uphold and the values we stand for in a real food system.
Your feedback and commentary will be considered by our student-led National Real Food Standards Council, who are guided by a team of industry and movement veterans generously serving as advisors to the project.

As RFC leaders and allies, your input is essential!  The public comment period closes on April 1, 2016. Will you bring your voice to the table?

Keepin it REAL!
