The Office of International Education (OIE) and the Champlain Library invites Champlain faculty, staff, and students to submit photos for the 9th Annual International Photo Contest!
The deadline for all submissions is Monday, March 21, 2016.
NEW THIS YEAR:
- Due to limited display space for this year’s Contest, OIE can only accept the first 100 photos. Don’t miss out – submit your photos today!
- Only two photos maximum per person will be accepted for the Contest. You may only submit one photo per category.
- If you submit more than 2 photos, OIE will at its own discretion choose two photos to enter/display.
PHOTO CONTEST RULES
- There are three categories:
- a) People & Culture
- b) Landscape & the Natural World
- c) Architecture
- Photos must be:
- a) Of an international location. No “selfies” allowed.
- b) In Color or Black or White.
- c) In .jpg format and sized for a 8×10 print.
- d) Submitted with a title, location, date, and description.
- There is a maximum of 2 photos per person and 1 photo will be accepted per category. Due to limited space, OIE will only be able to accept the first 100 photos for the Contest. If you submit more than 2 photos, OIE will at its own discretion choose two photos to enter/display.
- OIE will print the 8 x 10 photo from your digital entry photo(s).
- You must be a current Champlain student, staff, or faculty member who has traveled outside his/her home country. International & exchange students may submit photos of his/her home country.
- Photos will be judged on global perspective and on artistic merit and will be displayed in the Champlain Library from April 6-20, 2016.
- Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place winners in each category.
- Photos submitted will not be returned and may be used by Champlain College for marketing or in promotional material.

PHOTO LABELING REQUIREMENTS
Please properly label each digital photo entry by following this formula:
- Must begin with the following category codes:
P = People & Culture
A = Architecture
L = Landscape & Natural World
- Followed by your Champlain College email address
- Then your Champlain College ID number

VOTING
Photo entries from this contest will be on display during our Photo Exhibition in the Champlain Library (Miller Information Commons, or MIC) from April 6-20, 2016. Come check out the exhibit and cast your own vote for “People’s Choice” in the Library.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The Award Ceremony will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2016 in the Champlain Library (MIC) from1:30 -3:00 pm. Refreshments will be served.
