GAS PIPELINE- PUBLIC SERVICE BOARD HEARINGS
The Public Service Board had a technical hearing on Dec. 1 and
has 3 more hearings on December 2, 9 & 10 about the natural
gas pipeline in Chittenden and Addison Counties. For more

CREATING a CULTURE of CLEAN WATER
At VTIPL’s conference on October 17, Barry Lampke was a
leader of one of the workshops. He gave a presentation on
Lake Champlain and now has written an article about the

PARIS CLIMATE TALKS: A Prayer and Blogs
A Texas Interfaith Power and Light colleague, Yaira Robinson,
has written a prayer for the Paris talks. Yaira is in Paris with
her colleague, Bee. They have a blog, “Boots and Berets”, to

USCCB LEADER SIGNS ONTO CLIMATE APPEAL
The Most Reverend Joseph Kurtz, US Conference of Catholic
Bishops’ President, signed onto the church’s episcopal climate
appeal saying he was happy to sign onto the “Appeal to the
COP 21 Negotiating Parties” and hoped it would encourage US

POPE FRANCIS: Changing the Climate Conversation
In his Forbes article, Marshall Shepherd cites a study by Yale
and George Mason University’s Project on Climate Change
Communication which tracked the views of Americans in
general and faith community members in particular regarding
their concern about climate change and found there’s increased
concern since the release of the Pope’s encyclical in June.

CARBON POLLUTION TAX: Vermonters urge support
As the climate negotiations started in Paris, Vermont activists
had a press conference in Montpelier and delivered over 25,000
postcards and petitions in support of a carbon pollution tax to
Vermont legislators. VTIPL’s Secretary, Rev. Dick Hibbert,
was one of the speakers at this Montpelier event.
OTHER STATES CONSIDERING TAX on CARBON
In Washington State, a petition is circulating which could put
a carbon tax on the ballot. Carbon Washington, a grassroots
carbon tax campaign, already has more than enough signatures.
The Massachusetts legislature is also considering a bill. Read
