Artist and activist Max Liboiron builds interactive art installations out of trash. Liboirin then invites participants to interact with the installation according to one or two rules of exchange, and she documents their choices, using participants’ actions as data to argue that sustainable, non-capitalist economies are not only possible, but already latent in everyday decisions. This talk introduces some of the installations and economic rules Liboiron has used in the past, and the types of economies participants have modeled. This program is being held in conjunction with the current Fleming Museum exhibition, High Trash.
