“The New England Bike Walk Summit was developed by Weis and the ECGA staff as a regional complement to the annual National Bike Summit hosted by LAB. (The ECGA plans to add a future Southeast Summit.) Attendance has grown with each edition of the NE Summit, and the event continues to draw high profile leaders in the region’s bike-ped movement. “You see agency staff from one state DOT, sitting at a table with agency staff from one or two or three other state DOTs, talking about working with their state legislatures and local advocates to move projects forward,” says Weis. “It’s a great event for everyone involved.”
