The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Race to Zero Student Design Competition is engaging college students to become part of a new leadership movement to achieve truly sustainable homes. This competition will help to provide the next generation of architects, engineers, construction managers, and entrepreneurs with skills and experience in integrating advanced home designs with building science principles. This experience will help launch careers in clean energy and generate creative solutions to real-world problems. The competition will culminate April 18-20, 2015, with student representatives defending their solutions and designs to panels of experts during the judging event and awards ceremony at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory in Golden, Colorado.
