Write with Nature!

Gain inspiration for your prose and walk amongst the cedars overlooking Lake Champlain. Join us for a four and a half hour workshop to gain insights into nature by slowing down, observing, and taking ideas from the forest surrounding the Button Point Nature Center at Button Bay State Park. Topics will include finding metaphors and meaning through nature and establishing a strong sense of place.

The workshop will be led by Park Naturalist Will George who has published nature essays in handful of literary journals, produced nature writing contests, and taught creative writing workshops to students of all ages. George holds an MFA from Goddard College, has worked as a park ranger, environmental educator and guide for the National Park Service and produced stories for Living on Earth and Florida Public Radio. He was a recipient of the Oregon Literary Fellowship in creative nonfiction from Literary Arts. George’s essays have been published by Rain, Prick of the Spindle, Blood Lotus, Shout Out, North Coast Squid, and Hip Fish.
