The Nature Museum in Grafton is currently hiring for a Director of Communications.
The Nature Museum in Grafton, Vermont is seeking a Director of Communications. The Director is responsible for coordinating the Museum’s online and offline communications to the public, donors, volunteers, friends, local and regional news outlets. This job is 15-20 hours weekly with a 20 hour paid annual personal leave allowance.
ONLINE:
· Maintains the Nature Museum’s website, including timely updates.
· Monitors and updates the Museum’s Facebook page and event pages.
· Maintains and updates the Museum’s public Google calendars.
· Designs, writes and edits the Museum’s online monthly newsletter.
· Provides technology support to Staff.
· In collaboration with Staff writes,edits, and distributes press releases, calendar listings, and articles for local publications.
· In collaboration with Staff, designs and/or edits posters and other publications.
· In collaboration with Board, writes and edits annual giving communications
· Develops communications budget in December for the coming year.
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Attends Staff meetings.
· Works with Staff on events and programs.
· Writes a personal evaluation, goals and action plan annually and meets with the ED/OSL to review his/her performance in January.
EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience in email marketing, website design/maintenance and social media
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to details.
Comfortable with managing several projects simultaneously.
Strong team player and excellent interpersonal skills.
