Naturalist, student, UVM teacher and photographer Dan Wells has been exploring New England’s wild places from a young age. In the Fall of 2013, despite a physical disability, he decided to take on the tenacious goal of hiking the Long Trail. His deliberate pace and naturalist background provided a unique perspective, captured in his 3000 images, on the changing landscape and seasons. Ready to document the transformation of the land, Dan’s biggest surprise came from the transformations which occurred within himself. Faced with challenges and adventure, he weaves an enthralling story of communing with nature and emerging stronger than he ever imagined.
