Description: A movement is brewing. Across the continent, communities are organizing to stop extreme energy extraction in its tracks with an uncompromising determination to stand with the most impacted communities and defend a livable planet for humans and all beings.
In the Champlain Valley, Vermont Gas is only weeks away from beginning construction on Vermont’s largest fossil fuel expansion project in decades. Despite the state’s failure to reject the fracked gas pipeline, a growing movement is determined to escalate the fight.
Join trainers & organizers from Green Mountain Earth First! and Rising Tide Vermont for a fun & participatory training in civil disobedience & direct action. Together we’ll explore the history of direct action, how direct action fits into a strategic campaign, action tactics, anatomy & roles, legal considerations and role plays.
