Unfortunately, the conflict unfolding is not unprecedented, and we recognize that there are conflicts taking place across the world, with some receiving more news coverage than others. That said, we extend our solidarity to the people of Ukraine during this time. Read on for more. | Solidarity With Ukraine Fair Trade Campaigns stands in solidarity with all those that are affected by the emerging conflict in Ukraine and calls for every effort to avoid a further escalation of violence, uphold peace and protect human rights throughout the region. We also recognize and condemn all of the acts of aggression and conflict throughout the world that we’ve seen unfold recently, from Afghanistan to Syria to Yemen to Ethiopia and more. We believe that people of all races, ethnicities, countries, gender identity, religious belief, and political affiliation, have a right to live in peace and free from the threat of violence. We hope that together, we can harness our passion for human rights and justice and our shared commitment to a peaceful world to help make this a reality. A number of our partner organizations have shared resources to help those in and outside of Ukraine to directly support peacebuilding efforts and uphold human rights.  Sara is an award-winning beverage creator, TedX Speaker and Founding CEO of Sarilla, a social enterprise with two Fair Trade certified product lines. She has been partnering with women in Rwanda since 2007, sourcing tea from farmer-owned cooperatives who grow their own botanicals using regenerative agriculture. Sara has been leading curated Crop to Cup tours to East Africa since 2012, and founded a nonprofit that serves women with a history of trauma, Africa Healing Exchange. Aime Medina  Aime Medina has been leveraging her expertise over the last 7 years in international social enterprises and nonprofit organizations. She has focused her efforts to empower farmers and protect their environment globally. Currently she is on the Impact, Research & Learning team at Fair Trade USA and is responsible for coordinating research at the producer level to better understand the impact that the fair trade program is creating in their lives. Alyssa Anderson  Alyssa joined the Fair Trade Federation as Membership Manager in 2020. She is also Chair of the Lancaster Human Relations Commission and a member of the Climate Reality Leadership Corps. She has been in the non-profit sector most of her career, including work with Refugee Resettlement Programs. She also leads the Lancaster, PA Fair Trade Town campaign. Whitney M. Young Magnet High School  Whitney M. Young Magnet High School became a designated Fair Trade school in early 2019. Since then, their team has made great strides partnering with Chicago Fair Trade, creating the Rethink Ethical podcast, and even starting a Fair Trade coffee shop on campus.
