 AIGA VT seeks proposals that investigate the voids that exist around us and consider what is missing from the fabric of our community. Voids can be physical, social, cultural, political, or psychological; tangible or intangible. Projects should engage critically with concepts of absence and emptiness, as they appear within Vermont, while generating potential ways to address these voids. We ask these guiding questions: + How do we locate and understand Vermont’s voids, historically and currently? + What would it mean to fill or rectify the voids around us? + What do these choices say about Vermont’s future? Proposals can be playful, provocative, critical, or speculative. They should be based in visual design, but can extend to include other artistic mediums. We welcome solo or group proposals from Vermont based creatives and students. Group proposals encouraged. Proposal Guidelines: + Provisional Project Title. + Project Abstract that includes description of the void that the project will address (3 to 5 Sentences). + Type of media and how it should be displayed in Karma Bird Gallery. + Estimated material budget. + Sketches and/or mockups of work that you plan on including in the exhibit.
