Imagine cutting the ribbon on a local community solar project. Or implementing a campaign to promote electric bikes for low-carbon and healthy transportation. Or working with the Window Dressers to organize a volunteer effort to build energy-saving window inserts for community members. Or, an initiative to “mow electric” on school and municipal property. The opportunities to implement community-based climate solutions are multiple – and many of these initiatives also help to strengthen local economies.
At the Vermont Council on Rural Development we know there are many Vermonters ready to step forward and lead local projects. That is why we have launched the 2020 Climate Catalysts Leadership Program. 10 individuals from all corners of Vermont and all walks of life will come together to build peer connections, develop leadership skills, connect with experts and partners, and design and implement projects that strengthen community and help to address climate change.
Application Deadline Next Monday – Click Here To Apply
This free program will run from February through December of 2020 and at the core will be 4 evening sessions to convene, enjoy a meal, work together, and connect with other leaders and programmatic partners. Between sessions there will be one-on-one consultations (with VCRD staff and with cohort partners) and full group zoom meetings. The program structure is intended to be accessible for those potential participants already busy with the many demands of work, family, and volunteer activities.
