Registration Closes February 1 for RecycleMania 2020 – Is your campus competing?

RecycleMania is a college and university competition focused on waste reduction and recycling, and it’s free to participate in. Campuses may compete in one or more main and/or special categories.

RecycleMania can help your campus:

• Set a benchmark and develop goals for waste reduction on campus
• Tackle use of single-use plastics
• Educate the campus community on how to properly recycle
• Test out new strategies to reduce waste, and reuse materials

Due February 16 – Art Submissions for the Saving Endangered Species College Student Art Contest

The Endangered Species Coalition and National Wildlife Federation are pleased to announce the 2020 Saving Endangered Species College Student Art Contest, which is open to current college students, ages 17 to 30. The contest is an integral part of the 15th annual Endangered Species Day on May 15, 2020.  To be eligible, students’ artwork must depict a land or ocean-dwelling species or a plant/flower that has been placed on the threatened/endangered species list or is considered a recovered species or a candidate species (proposed to receive protection). The first place winner will be featured in National Wildlife magazine and used in promotions for Endangered Species Day 2020.

In each issue of the EcoLeaders Insider, we are highlighting a different career sector with quick links to explore careers and academic offerings. This month, as we look forward to the upcoming RecycleMania competition, we are highlighting careers in Consumption and Waste.

Our Career Sector Outlook lists various jobs that support this sector, such as Process Engineers, Material Recovery Facility Managers, Material Sorters, and Industrial Production Managers.
