Commute Green during Earth Week!

Take the CATMA Earth Week Mobility Challenge, by logging trips and attending events. We encourage you to use transit, carpool, walk, or bike for your commuter trips April 22-26, 2019.

Log trips with the GoVermont website or app (iOS or Android) and attend events throughout the week to be eligible to win prizes! Each day will feature a different mode! Log that day’s mode as a trip in the app for even more prizes from CATMA and Champlain!

Anyone living or working in Chittenden County and All Champlain students and employees are encouraged to join the challenge!

Earth Week Mobility Events at Champlain

MONDAY APRIL 22 — BIKE

1 p.m. — 2 p.m. | Old Spokes Home Bike Mobile Repair | Finney Quad

  • Bring your bike to the back of McDonald Hall where Old Spokes Home mechanics will lube up your chain and put some air in your tires, plus free safety checks, assessments, and advice. Plus anyone who brings their bike over will receive a free Greenride Bikeshare helmet

TUESDAY APRIL 23 — CAR POOL

  • 7:30 a.m. — 9:30 a.m. | FREE Priority Parking for Champlain College Carpools | MIC Lot
    • Carpool with one or more Champlain employees or students and receive priority parking at MIC Lot with “valet cone service” and free parking for the first 12 carpools. Plus free goodies and a warm heart for saving the planet.
  • Find other commuters to carpool with using the Go!Vermont Platform

WEDNESDAY APRIL 24 — WALK

  • Noon — 1:30 p.m. | National Walk@Lunch Day |
    • Meet at Perry Hall Promenade or Lakeside Cantina at NOON for a fun walk downtown with a group of Champlain folks. Random prizes will be drawn too!
  • 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. | ChampRiders Cruise | IDX Parking Lot
    • Join John Ware for a slow roll bike ride around some Burlington neighborhoods or the waterfront.

THURSDAY APRIL 25 — BUS

  • Celebrate National Get On Board Day. Try any BUS and get on board! *Remember ALL City buses are free with your Champlain ID Card.
  • 7 a.m. — 9 a.m. | Get On Board Day | UVM Medical Center transit stop
    • If you take the LINK bus or #2 Essex Junction, Join the party at the UVM Medical Center stop for coffee, muffins and goodies while socializing with fellow riders before walking over to Champlain.

FRIDAY APRIL 26 — CarShare Vermont

  • 2 p.m. — 4:00 p.m. | CarShare Vermont Party | Champlain College Spring Meltdown. Join us at the table hosted by CarShare Vermont. Learn, sign up, and eat treats!

All Raffles through GoVermont platform for carpool, bus, bike, and walk days.

BONUS event…We will be hosting Cowbell Mobile Bicycle Workshop on May 7, all day at Lakeside…

  • Get your bike ready to ride this year, just bring it in to work and have it tuned and ready to ride by the end of the day. Cowbell Mobile Bike Shop will be offering discounted bike tunes to Champlain employees as an incentive to commute to work. Spots are limited. The People Center will be sending out a sign up form in the coming weeks.
