You can LEAD in 2020!

Have you ever considered running for office, but found it too daunting? Have you ever considered running or working on a campaign, but didn’t know where to start?

With the 2020 elections just around the corner the time to think about your leadership role is now.

Leadership Education and Development Vermont (LEAD-VT) was created to demystify the process of running for office or working for candidates who do run. We walk you through today’s political landscape and the challenges facing prospective candidates and campaign managers, and then give you the power mapping, campaign planning, organizing, and communication training necessary to mount successful electoral campaigns.

And, we’re announcing that LEAD-VT is holding four trainings this fall across the state. Register today for the one nearest you:

BenningtonSeptember 7th, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church

LyndonvilleOctober 5th, Northern Vermont University, Lyndon Campus

Rutland: October 19th, Leahy Educational Center, Rutland Regional Medical Center

St. AlbansNovember 2nd, St. Albans City Hall

Each training is a suggested $50 for the day, which includes coffee, snacks, and lunch, but scholarships are available so no one will be turned away for lack of funds. All trainings run from 9AM – 4PM. Sign up here!

Several LEAD-VT participants ran, and won, their races last year – some of them for the first time. But, don’t take our word for it. Here’s one 2018 trainee had to say: “I went to a workshop to become better support for a candidate I hoped would run. Instead, I committed to running myself,” said Rep. Charen Fegard, D-Berkshire (House Franklin-5).

The training will provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to run successful grassroots campaign to win and build leadership in your community. If you are interested in running for office we encourage you to be a part of LEAD VT! If you know of someone you think would make a great candidate or campaign leader – please forward them this email and application link.
