Spring 2019 Semester Program–Food Systems, Water, & Wilderness in California–Expedition Education Institute

“Fields of Abundance: Sustainable culture and agriculture throughout California” is now accepting applications from current college students.

  • July 15, 2018 is the early application/decision date for the Spring 2019 semester. Interested students should contact: bus@marlboro.edu, or apply directly: www.getonthebus.org/to-apply.

  • If space is available after this date, applications will be accepted on a rolling basis up until the final deadline of October 15th, 2018.

We would really appreciate your help by sharing this EEI program information with any interested students who are seeking this type of semester away. For more info: Spring 2019 Semester Poster, and EEI Brochure.

As the director of the Expedition Education Institute (EEI), I’m also reaching out more generally about our travel-study away program in ecological leadership that is accredited through Marlboro College in VT. EEI offers a 15 credit semester program for students who are looking for an off campus opportunity that is deeply experiential, fully outdoors, academically rigorous and an adventure in learning within community.

Do you know students who are:

  • Looking for a traveling semester that is both academic and experiential?

  • Yearning to be in community and in connection with nature?

  • Ready to be challenged and inspired to make a difference?

You might know students who are in search of a break from the classroom or campus to hone their leadership and community (21st century) skills or to discover/develop their passions and refocus their direction. Spending a semester with EEI consistently helps students grow and learn more about themselves as learners and leaders, and depending on their interests, as activists/change agents or educators. They learn theory and get to practice applying it throughout the semester. We often hear how much more engaged and curious the students are after being on the “bus” program–from their college professors, and how aware and active they are, especially around creating community and culture–from employers.

We appreciate your help in connecting us with students who are looking for learning and transformation, and who will return to campus even more energized and engaged as learners and leaders!

Thank you for spreading the word to your students and interested colleagues!

Gratefully,
Larkspur
