RING IN THE NEW – First Night Burlington needs volunteers to help make this annual celebration happen. Choose from the tasks that most appeal to you: Site Assistants, Button Sellers, Art Assistants, Dancing Dragon, Office Assistants and Shuttle Assistants. Shifts are about 3 hours long. FIRST RUN – RunVermont needs volunteer help for its 30th annual First Run 5K and Youth Fun Run on January 1, 2018. Volunteers can staff the registration table, help with children’s activities, help with food set up, and more. A great, festive way to start the New Year! FAIR TRADE – Peace & Justice Center is looking for volunteers to assist their store manager at the fair trade retail store. READ TO THEM – Champlain Valley Head Start invites volunteers to share books and their love of reading with Head Start classrooms in Colchester, Burlington, Swanton, St. Albans, Essex, Winooski and Middlebury. TUTORS NEEDED – Mercy Connections is looking for volunteers to tutor adults on-site in their Education & Transition Tutorials. Volunteers with educational experience and a heart to volunteer can join the tutoring team for 2 or 3 hours on Tuesday and/or Thursday mornings. Students may be English Language Learners or may need support with homework or basic math, reading and writing skills. PROVIDING RELIEF – Ronald McDonald House Charities of Burlington needs weekend/holiday overnight relief managers to provide caring support to guest families, take guest referrals, answer phones, etc. Friday from 9 p.m. to Saturday Noon or Saturday from 6 p.m. to Sunday noon.
